Feature: North Okanagan Apparel

Catching Up with North Okanagan Apparel

“It’s been exactly a year since we started North Okanagan Apparel, it was June 16th, 2020!” laughs owner, Cody.  Beside him sits his partner and co-owner Sara, quickly eating takeaway before the next customer comes.

That doesn’t take long! Dozens of customers have bought products in the last 10 minutes. It’s not all business at the Vernon Farmers Market, Cody loves to chat about his passion to anybody who listens, and have a good laugh!

"The Sweet Life"

In fact, one of their slogans is ‘The sweet life’, which Cody explains has a double meaning. His brother passed away in 2015 and his last name was Sweet. As he was thinking about life in the Okanagan and his brother’s last name, ‘The Sweet life’ came to be and captured the feeling perfectly.

North Okanagan Apparel believes in utilizing their culture to educate people. They will be launching a new logo which uses Cody’s Syilx language and will come with a card to explain and translate the meaning.

“Be grateful and give back to the community and the lands we live on!” Cody exclaims with a huge smile!

With that attitude no wonder the clothes, hats, mugs, tumblers and decals fly off the shelves. They are not only more affordable than similar brands but the quality speaks for itself.

You can buy North Okanagan Apparel at the following: The Rail Trail Cafe, The Pink Spotted Goat, the Vernon Farmers Market at Kal Tire Place every Monday and Thursday, also online at www.northokanaganapparel.com.

Be a part of the sweet life!
