Empowering Indigenous Communities Through Fitness
Tosum Ltd, founded in July 2023 by Charlene Muskego, is an Indigenous-owned fitness and wellness business based in Treaty Six Territory, in Edmonton Alberta. Charlene, a proud member of the Tla’amin Nation, launched Tosum Ltd with a mission to empower Indigenous communities by promoting fitness, healthy living, and resilience. With deep cultural roots and a passion for positive change, Tosum Ltd is making a meaningful impact. Charlene fuels her business with so much passion, it’s engrained in everything she does, she claims respectfully,
“Fitness has the power to heal, transform, and empower, and I’m here to guide others on that path if they choose.”

A Journey Rooted in Personal Triumphs
As a natural bikini professional and holder of the prestigious WNBF Pro Card and PNBA Pro Card, Charlene brings her years of experience and dedication to every aspect of her work. For Charlene, fitness is about much more than physical health. Fitness is a way to honor Indigenous traditions, connect with nature, and inspire others to reclaim their wellness. Her journey into fitness began over a decade ago and has been shaped by personal triumphs and challenges, including earning Top 5 in the World at the WNBF World Championships in 2021—a milestone achieved on her late mother’s birthday.

Creating Opportunities for Wellness
Tosum Ltd offers both online and in-person services, creating opportunities for individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle. The business focuses on empowering clients to take the first step toward wellness, whether it’s through a walk in nature, a fitness goal, or adopting healthier eating habits. Tosum Ltd also prioritizes cultural pride by emphasizing the importance of traditional foods and active living, which have been integral to Indigenous communities for generations.
Creating Meaningful Connections and Community Impact Through Wellness in Indigenous Communities
A major highlight for Tosum Ltd is its upcoming participation in the Gathering Our Voices workshop in March 2025, as well as hosting the six-week StrongHER fitness program with the Indigenous Sports Council in February 2025. These milestones reflect the business’s commitment to fostering community engagement and inspiring the next generation of Indigenous leaders in health and wellness.
“As a natural bikini professional, I aim to show that success in fitness is achievable without compromising authenticity,”
says Charlene Muskego. Her commitment to staying true to herself and her culture inspires others to embrace wellness while honoring their own values and traditions. This philosophy drives everything she does at Tosum Ltd, empowering clients to reach their goals with integrity.

Tosum Ltd; A Vision for the Future
Charlene dreams of owning an Indigenous gym where she can share the gift of health with her community. Her family plays a huge role in her journey, with her daughters excelling as elite gymnasts and the whole family embracing fitness as a way of life. Together, they show what strength, connection, and resilience can achieve.
